Job Description:

The successful candidate for this position will have a strong background in Technology, Professional Development, Curriculum Design, and Standards-Based Instruction.  Other highly desirable areas of expertise include skills in the effective use and integration of wireless networks, Smartboards, digital cameras, multimedia software, personal productivity software (ie. Office), Inspiration software, and web-based collaboration tools such as blogs, web page development tools, online collaboration sites.  Finally, this position requires a person who possesses grade level state standards knowledge which could be substantiated through attendance at KSDE Integrated Standards Summer Academy, Completion of KSDE standards training (Online or via CD's), or through evidence of locally provided standards training.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Plan organize and conduct all Tech Rich Classroom (TRC) professional development opportunities for teachers participating in the grant.
  • Provide in-classroom instructional coaching/mentoring
  • Facilitate a student-cenered learning environment with technology (i.e. active particiaption, cooperative learning, best practices, etc.)
  • Assist grant teachers incorporate constructivist principles into the classroom, such as inquiry-based learning, collaborate learning and project-based learning.
  • Attend all grant related training and meetings

If funded, this grant will require the facilitator to attend a 'kick-off' meeting in March of 2010 with other activities not occuring before the summer of 2010.

Each grant award requires a 1/2 time grant faciilitator.  However, this could be a full-time position if more than one grant is funded in this area.
